Created in July 2004, the Seychelles Investment Bureau aims to reduce bureaucracy in the realisation of projects. Through its one stop approach and young dedicated dynamic team under the professional guidance of its CEO, Mrs. Sherin Renaud, SIB works directly with investors offerings a broad array of services which before were being handled by various Governmental Ministries and agencies. The Bureau’s dedicated team of professionals can guide any new investor through the process of establishing a business in Seychelles from start to finish, with expertise on everything from legal requirements to local contacts.
The broad objective of the bureau is to provide the ideal framework for investment and to promote the Seychelles as the perfect environment for business, consequently developing an investor friendly culture in the country.
The enactment of the Investment Code Act in 2005 provided the Bureau with a crucial tool to efficiently perform its duties. The Code itself serves as a guideline on investment in Seychelles, which is further supported by the recently published investment guide.
SIB’s complimentary services includes:-- Processing all project proposals which need government approval regardless of the investment size.
- Provides advisory support to investors.
- identification of potential partners;
- identification and selection of sites and business premises;
- organisation of visits and meetings with public agencies and economic operators;
- provision of market intelligence, market opportunities and information on costs of doing business;
- assistances with obtaining work permits and all required licenses and clearances from relevant authorities;
- preparation of brochures, newsletters and advertises Seychelles;
- organisation of trade missions and road shows
- Provision of aftercare services to investors to facilitate the realisation of the full potential of the investment.
SIB’s project approval procedures:- - the Project promoters submit a complete project memorandum to SIB.
- The memorandum is circulated to relevant technical agencies for input (from a policy point of view) - deadline seven days for technical inputs.
- Upon receipt of technical comments SIB summarizes the comments and submit report to Government for consideration.
- The Promoter is then informed of decision.
- Under the Investment Code the whole process should take a maximum of 30 days.
