Due to the ever increasing importance to Seychelles of tourism and financial services, the services sector provides the backbone of the economy. Professional support services are particularly well advanced with internationally renowned accounting/auditing firms having a presence in Seychelles.
The Government will continue to encourage investment in the services sector especially in redistribution and retail to ensure the availability of quality goods on the local market and ensure that the sector is well prepared to take full advantage of the downstream impacts of investment projects.
Information, Communication and Technology
Over the course of the last 20 years, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Seychelles has undergone several radical transformations, which have unified broadcasting, telecommunications and computing. These advances have changed the way business is conducted, facilitating learning and knowledge sharing, allowing information to flow globally and empowering citizens and communities.
The Government has long recognized the importance and potential that Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has in facilitating the growth of the country’s socio-economic development. In October 2007 a national
ICT policy was launched, aimed at ensuring the availability of accessible, universal, affordable, modern and high quality ICT facilities and services.
