The Industrial Policy of Seychelles puts emphasis on clean industries, capable of producing high value added export oriented goods and related services, with high standards maintained in order to protect the country’s environment.
The Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) policy, to be enacted soon, will encompass issues such as the enlargement, sustainability, promotion and further development of SMEs in the country. It will provide a further tool for the Small Enterprise Promotion Agency (SEnPA) and other business support organizations.
The government’s
craft policy, revised in 2002, emphasizes strategic key areas such as investment in research and development, incentives and concessions, and the cross promotion of the craft sector with tourism, exports and training.
This policy is complimented by the national policy for the promotion and development of cottage industries, which reinforces the commitment of the government to its dual role as regulator and facilitator of cottage industries.
